The Sixth is a collaboration between A.M.D. Hays and her husband, W.S.T. Hays. They plan to collaborate on other historical fiction projects and will continue to use the pen name Avery Hays for these works.
The Sixth is named after a famous district in Paris, la Sixieme Arrondissement, or the Sixth District. It is located south of the River Seine, also known as the Left Bank, and includes a number of very famous landmarks including: the Palais du Luxembourg (Senate), Luxembourg Gardens, St Germain de Pres, St Sulpice, Odeon, School of Fine Arts, Schools of Medicine as well as numerous famous cafes and restaurants.
It is also well known for its bohemian past, having been home to numerous famous artists, poets, writers and intellectuals. I found a beautiful old map of Paris circa 1910 and have marked the locations mentioned in The Sixth on the map.
Please feel free to download it using the link on the right (Adobe PDF format - approx 8Mb).
